Letter From The Governor To Trucking Industry Dear Friend, The success of the trucking industry is critically important to New Jersey’s economy and security of the trucking industry is one of my most important concerns. While no nation can provide citizens an absolute guarantee against terrorism, the trucking industry should know that the State of New Jersey is doing everything possible to prevent acts of terrorism and to prepare effective responses for possible emergencies. On March 19th, I signed an Executive Order to deploy additional National Guard troops at bridges, tunnels, airports, nuclear plants and railways throughout the region. In addition, the State Police, the Office of Emergency Management, the Office of Counter Terrorism and the National Guard are working constantly to ensure that New Jersey’s ports, roads, trains, airports, schools, communities and commerce are safe and secure. With heightened alertness and security, we should continue with our normal routines. In New Jersey the public and private sectors have come together to coordinate collective resources to respond to any event that might occur. In addition, the State has established www.NJHomelandSecurity.com to provide employers and workers with important information and news related to homeland security.
